One location players are struggling to find is the Grand Lift of Rold. This lift plays a crucial part in progressing the main story because it leads to the Mountaintops of the Giants, where players will receive help from the maiden Melina.
The Grand Lift of Dectus isn’t the only Grand Lift you’ll find in Elden Ring. As you progress through the main quest, you’ll discover the Grand Lift of Rold, which can take you to either the Mountaintop of the Giants, or the Consecrated Snowfield. However, there are a few things you’ll have to do before being able to access the lift.
Elden Ring: How to Get to the Grand Lift of Rold
The main way to get to the Grand Lift of Rold is via the streets of central Leyndell, and if you’ve accessed the Avenue Balcony site of grace, we recommend starting from there. From that site of grace, go up the stairs and northeast along the street until you reach the end, marked by large double doors you can go through. Go up the stairs here, past some enemies, and you’ll reach a large, wooden lift, but not the one you’re looking for.
The Forbidden Lands is the only path that connects the Altus Plateau with the Mountaintops of the Giants. Players must cross the Forbidden Lands to find the Grand Lift of Rold on the other end. There are two optional bosses that stand between the player and the Grand Lift. The first is a Night’s Cavalry at the end of the first half of the path, followed by the Black Blade Kindred, a tough Gargoyle defending the Grand Lift steps.
You can also use the lift to get to the Consecrated Snowfield, which will allow you to access both the Malenia and Mohg boss fights. To do this, you’ll need to gather both the right and left halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.
Elden Ring is out now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Series X|S.
